In order to ensure the normal operation of railway trains, railway departments in many places have strengthened the maintenance of air-conditioning equipment on lines and trains to ensure passengers’ safe and comfortable travel.

The reporter saw in Zhengzhou Depot that the train inspector was carrying out maintenance work on the train air conditioner on the iron roof more than 5 meters above the ground under the scorching sun. In hot weather, the normal operation of train air conditioning equipment is directly related to the comfort of passengers. Under the scorching sun, the surface temperature of the iron sheet on the roof is close to 60℃ or 70℃ at the highest, and the car inspector has to keep tossing and turning when stepping on it, and carry out operations such as disassembly, cleaning, dust removal and performance test on the 30 cm air conditioning unit.

The higher the temperature, the busier the railway linemen are. Due to the property of thermal expansion and cold contraction of rail, it is easy to deform under the high temperature of the sun. In order to ensure the safety of railway operation in high temperature weather, railway linemen have to patrol the line on foot in high temperature. Railway rails, turnouts and fasteners should be checked one by one. It takes at least four hours to check the 10-kilometer railway line.

In addition, in Wuhai, Inner Mongolia, Linyi, Shandong and other railway stations, passengers are also provided with heatstroke prevention drugs and drinks such as Huoxiang Zhengqi water and mung bean soup in case of emergency.
