After learning the lathe operation of his own job, he began to "steal the teacher" behind other masters, delving into it himself and consulting his predecessors, and also learned the techniques of planer, milling machine and drilling machine.

　　In 2013, Wan Shuang participated in the vocational skills competition organized by the company and won the first place; In the same year, he won the championship in the vocational skills competition for young workers in Jiangxi Province. 　　In 2012, the company had a stacker-reclaimer with a very high failure rate, and the spare parts were replaced every half month on average, so the company decided to redesign the spare parts. Wan Shuang, who has never been exposed to this kind of machine, volunteered to undertake the design and processing tasks of a series of main parts in the reconstruction project. In order to finish the task on time, he ran to the scene during the day, measured data, looked up information and drew drawings at night, and worked overtime. Finally, the equipment failure rate is reduced to once every six months.

　　At the end of December 2013, Wan Shuang was transferred to the sample preparation class as the deputy monitor. When working in the workshop, he observed that it was particularly time-consuming for a small class of 10 people to process samples with a sawing machine. In order to improve work efficiency, Wan Shuang had the idea of transforming a large sawing machine. He called in technicians to discuss it together. After many times of drawing, making samples, installing and debugging, he finally completed the transformation work. This innovation alone saved more than 50,000 yuan per month.
